Show your toddler the things that the baby will do
Explain to your toddler that the baby will drink from a bottle {or Mom}, sleep a lot, and may cry a lot too! Show him how to burp the baby and let him practice on a doll.
Tell your toddler why babies cry
One of the things that may alarm your toddler is the baby’s cry. Help him understand that babies cry for a lot of reasons, simply because they can’t talk to tell us what they need. The baby might cry because she’s hungry, tired, cold, bored, or needs to burp. And it’s okay!
