Glow Ice

Here’s a creative way to learn about different states of matter while having fun at the same time.  Use glow sticks to make fluorescent ice cubes.  Put the ice in a bowl with oil and as the ice melts, the water will appear as little floating beads in the oil.  Such an easy way to talk about not only the process of solids changing to liquids but also how some states of matter don’t mix together.
