Get help from others
You might think you have plenty of time to scrub the toilets and wash all the dishes, but if you’re spending all your downtime on it, it’s not benefiting you. If you have offers of help, accept them. Let others take over some of the chores–I promise the world won’t stop if the dishes aren’t put exactly where you like them. If you can afford it, hire a temporary maid service. You’ll feel better with some extra rest!
Sleep when baby sleeps
Of these tips to help new Moms find time for themselves, I’ve heard this one the most. But it’s definitely easier said than done. When baby sleeps, you think about the laundry you could toss into the washer or the sink you could scrub. Instead, set times for those things–a certain day for example–and don’t let them take over all of baby’s nap times. When baby is a newborn, it’s extra important for you to get sleep when he does, so you can recover from labor and delivery and recharge.
