How to Avoid Getting Head Lice
Lice move from one person to another with head-to-head contact. The pests are unable to fly or jump. They crawl across a strand of hair from one person’s head to another. It’s unlikely to catch lice by sharing hats, bedding or towels. Head lice prefer to be on hair. They thrive in a warm, humid environment. Away from the head, lice are clumsy – the bugs dry out and die fast. To stop your kids from bringing head lice home, pull their hair up tight. Hairbands and barrettes are available from Amazon.
