Next time your Little Ones want to do some painting, ditch the dried up, store-bought paints and try making your own instead. The colors are more vibrant, the paint is a better quality, and you’ll get to spend some extra time laughing with your kids. Here’s how to make your own homemade finger paint.
Corn Starch Paint
If you want some seriously vibrant colors, this corn starch paint recipe is the way to go! All you’ll need is 3 TBS. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 C. corn starch, 2 C. water, and food coloring. Not including the food coloring, warm and mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan until they thicken. After allowing some cooling time, separate the mixture into smaller portions and add the desired food colorings. I found that this paint was best on thicker papers and canvas.
