Along with the pool, keep plenty of little water toys around, but keep reserves. That means, save some for later on so that the kids have something “new” to play with and keep their interest.
One day a month, fill the pool with water and dishwashing liquid and suds it up! Let the kids wash the pool and all the water toys. Seriously, this one is a favorite activity!

Kids love to slip & slide during the summer. But you don’t even have to buy a slip & slide. Make your own! I’ve seen some gigantic DIY slip & slides made from billboard vinyl.
