YouTube Channels Safe For Kids
The name might be a turn off initially, but if your kids just watch an episode of Free School, they’ll learn something fun and interesting, and then they’ll be happy to watch more. New videos are posted twice a week. Not only do they answer lots of questions kids have, but they also anticipate the questions kids may have from one episode so they can answer it in the next.
For safe, early childhood fun and learning, check out Story Bots. This is a storytelling channel with interesting robot characters who teach a variety of concepts. The bots sing some pretty catchy songs. They’re also funny–but take the time to preview them to be sure the type of humor is acceptable for your particular family.
Who doesn’t love a good National Geographic video? This channel features some cool videos, and since they’re made by National Geographic, you know they’re done well. Topics covered include “Big Cats Party Animals,” all things rocketry, and weird but kid-approved facts about insects.
The Peekaboo Kidz channel is all about science. The main cartoon character, Dr. Binocs, is cute and really helps bring the topics to life for kids of elementary school age.
Kids Learning Tube has new videos up every Friday, with content for every age from preschool up through middle school. Kids learn more about things such as lunar eclipses, the fifty states, and other countries.
