My oldest son was born last year… and now he’s turning 14 later this month. Okay, so slight exaggeration, but my point is that it really does seem like I was just bringing my babies home from the hospital yesterday and after three blinks, they’re all surprisingly older than it seems they should be. Where does time go? While I don’t have any major regrets about how I’ve juggled my time over the years as a mother, a wife, and a professional, I think time management is something everyone can always improve upon. I like to keep my eyes and ears open for ideas on how to be present in the moment, living every day to its fullest. Here are some of my thoughts and ideas that I’ve come across over the years on how to make the most of precious family time. Which one can you start doing today?
One of the easiest ways to get in more family time is to make it a point to have family meals together. Between soccer practice, scouting, and work responsibilities, this certainly isn’t something my family can do every day, but we do set the expectation to have a family dinner on three specific nights of the week. No friends on these nights, no work, just family and good food.
