Unicorns are back in fashion, so why not jump onboard? The mythical creatures are not only magical, but they are also colorful and appealing to all kinds of children. Here are adorable “unicorn” crafts for kids of all ages.
Blow Paint Unicorn Picture
For this craft project, gather watercolor paper, drinking straws and liquid watercolors. Print out or have your child draw a unicorn’s head on the paper. Then, let him or her make the mane by blowing paint onto the picture. To do this, add drops of paint near the head, and blow the paint away from the head on both sides.
Give your kids a way to be their own unicorn with a unicorn headband. To make it, you’ll need an elastic headband, embroidery floss, a needle and scissors. Prepare yourself to do a little sewing and a smidge of hot gluing. Once it’s made, your unicorn loving kids are sure to have hours of fun pretending to be this magical creature.
Unicorn String Art
String art is a different kind of craft, one that will likely appeal to older children. The only materials needed are cardboard, straight ball point pins, string, along with scissors. A unicorn string art creation will keep your kids busy as they meticulously wind the string around the pins, making a unique and beautiful work of art.
Unicorn Easter Eggs
This Easter, embrace the unicorn theme by making unicorn Easter eggs. For this project, collect glittery stationary paper, regular paper, glue, tape and scissors. You’ll also need hard-boiled eggs. After boiling the eggs, turn them into unicorns by making a horn from the glittery stationary paper and unicorn ears from regular paper. Attach your unicorn accessories to the Easter eggs with glue. Unicorn Sugar Cookies
This unicorn craft project is not only fun to make, but it is also a tasty treat. For this unicorn craft project, plan to invest in a unicorn cookie cutter. You’ll be able to buy one from Amazon. Also, purchase the ingredients for a classic sugar cookie recipe. Once made, decorate the cookies with your favorite icing. Your kids will enjoy tapping into their crafting skills and imaginations to make their own unicorn sugar cookies.
